When the likes of Spain, Germany, Argentina, and Colombia take the pitch in Brazil later this month, their players will have a leg up on the oppressive summer heat thanks to a brand new adiPower pre-cooling concept from adidas. Designed to help the world’s top players prepare for games in warmer climates, the conceptual design – consisting of a vest and sleeves – reduces body temperatures and delays the onset of heat-induced fatigue by using hyper-absorbent granule zones around the lower arms and upper back. Long in the works, the pre-cooling garments are currently being worn by players at pre-tournament training camps and will be donned both before matches and at halftime when the 2014 FIFA World Cup gets underway June 12.
