What’s good world. We’re in for a big treat on this entry. Here’s a close-up interview with Taiwan’s home grown Female DMC Champion. In fact, she was the first lady to ever crown victory in what used to be a male dominated league, leaving all male-contestants shook and speechless.

She roused the crowd by mixing behind her back, under her legs, with her elbows, and finally – to shut down all the fellas – she blindfolded herself with a bandanna tied around her forehead.

Primarily known for an eclectic taste-bud, Noodles is also celebrated as a pioneer in the industry for blending a range of musical styles: reggae, hip hop, funk, and electronic all into one hypnotic wavelength.

With no further ado, here are the raw and unedited answers we got back for our interview.

1. What is the start-up story behind your pursuit as a deejay?

I was a very shy kid ,always stay @ home and listen to all kind of music, classic, jazz, old school, rock, acid jazz&triphop…it was such a good time for indie music during the 90’s to the early 2000 !!

Then I was into hiphop and dance, and get in touch with the dj culture. That was the time when turntables are almost disappear from clubs in Taiwan, only DJ Chicano & Doobiest crew stick with the original, I used to go to their party & see what djing was like with turntablists.

I joined lots parties, saw performance from international talents to great local djs, keep my mind opening.

2. Describe your music, what is it like? What are three words that best define it?

You can hear lots fresh stuff in my mixing, old school spirit is the key get everything together the three words would be: Energetic, Unlimited and, Delighted

3. What is your definition of success, and how much of it do you think you’ve achieved?

I had achieved some of my short-term destinations, like album releasing, join the dmc world competition…it’s time for more & more people to understand what dj is all about, and have the next generation join in

We are recently working on a project to teach djing in schools and inform students about the latest information and methods to DJing and beatmaking.

I am not wise enough to give others advice, I just think that the most important thing is to keep mind&body strong and always think twice before you do something!

My biggest failure was not doing well in 2005 Taiwan DMC Championship, that was a painful experience, so i decided to lose ten kgs and prepare everything for the 2006 DMC Championship, although the process was painful, but at the end, it was worth it. I learned that having your own unique style is the most important.
