Cardo reveals that he made the "Seen It All" beat back in 2012 with the intention of Big Sean on it.
On Monday night, Jeezy released the title track to his upcoming album, Seen It All, which happened to feature a hot new verse from Jay Z. While it was first being reported that the song was originally intended for Hov’s Magna Carta Holy Grail, it turns out that the song’s producer, Cardo, had a different plan than that all along.
While speaking to MTV’s Rob Markham on the phone Wednesday, Cardo revealed that the instrumental, which he produced in his home in November of 2012, was originally intended for Big Sean & Travis Scott, but ended up in Jeezy's hands by mistake. Cardo stated, “I never had Jeezy or Jay Z in mind for it; Big Sean was a person I pictured on it, and Travis Scott. I sent to Jeezy by accident. I had two beats named under the same [name] in my folder for some reason and it got duplicated. I don’t know what happened; sometimes I’ll name the beat the same thing for some damn reason.... Jeezy sent me a crazy text message like, 'This joint right here, oh my God. Oh, this is crazy,'"
Even though Cardo says this was an accident, I think he’ll take this accident and add Jay Z to his resume. Don't you?
