Back in August 2008, I went through a really bad breakup. It had been my first real relationship, and even though I was the one to pull the plug, I was hurt. A lot. It was the worst thing in the world - I became insecure, and lost like a puppy. After 3 months, I couldnt take it anymore. I had to talk to someone, so I went to my boy Jay. He knows me like Einstein knew math, and i relied on him all the time. He told me to let it go. To grow up and stop living in my past. Another thing he wanted me to do was to go on with life without him helping me every step of the way, so that I could see how strong and independent I was. Here's what he wrote to me:

"Its not what anyone really thinks. You're wonderful and you and i both know you can be happy when you realize this and grow up. The future isnt easy.. and i wish i could be there, with you hand in hand.. us together, taking this step by step.. you are not bound and you cannot expect much from me now. But maybe later on i can put a smile on your face.. show you really what love is about.. and how you wont need to feel sad.. or hurt."

Hey Rachel.. wow, that's when I broke up with my ex who I've been with almost 3 years lol.

Jay's advice was on point.. we just have to toughen up and move on. March forward resiliently, there's more to life than just relationships, and also many more guys out there that will suit you better.
